Hippophae rhamnoides is a small shrub that grows at high altitudes in the northern Himalayan region, yielding fruits also called the sacred fruit of the Himalayas. The vegetable oil offered by Arc en Sels is extracted only from the seeds by CO2 extraction in order to preserve its precious assets and protect it from oxidation.

Known for millennia, it is particularly used in Central Asia, by Tibetan monks of the 8th century, renowned in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicines for providing health benefits.

Properties

Sea buckthorn oil is one of the only vegetable oils known to provide all four fatty acids omega-3, omega-6, omega-7 and omega-9. This very high richness in fatty acids gives it regulatory and regenerating properties. It is perfect for dull, dull skin that needs to regain comfort. Excellent anti-aging potential, its powerful antioxidants fight against free radical damage. These active ingredients stimulate the skin’s repair mechanisms and soothe irritated skin.

Indications

Use as a serum under your day cream or in the evening alone all over the face. This oil is the all-season protective ally for all skin types. Indeed, the presence of palmitoleic acid (omega 7) makes it a perfect match with the skin tissues and it is very little comedogenic.

In spring, its richness in provitamin A gives a healthy glow effect and prepares the skin for tanning.

In summer it is essential, its content of omega-7 and omega-3 fatty acids can help reduce inflammation after UV exposure, protecting the skin from sun damage.

In autumn, its high omega-6 content helps maintain skin elasticity and regenerate the hydrolipidic film of your skin to prepare it for cold damage.

In winter, thanks to its exceptional level of vitamin E and omega 9, sea buckthorn vegetable oil has antioxidant, anti-free radical and anti-aging activity. These assets will help you limit the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging.
