The apricot tree “Prunus armenica” is a small fruit tree from Central Asia and China, and was brought back to Europe at the roman time. Its name comes from the Arabic word “albarquq” which means early, because of its precouciously and spring flowering.
The oil (Prunus armeniaca kernel oil) is extracted by first cold press of the almonds inside the kernel of the fruit.
