This oil comes from Madagascar where the wild picking of fruits of Calophyllum tree gives to the small peasants an economical activity and a living.
The calophyllum tree is a sacred tree which grows naturally on the border of the Indian ocean, and particularly in Madagascar where it is called Forah. It grows in the wild in the swamps among the mangroves, along the beaches, and gives a little fruit. Traditionally, it its nuts have nutritional and medicinal properties. By cold pressing the nuts, an oil considered as sacred by the old Malagasy people, is obtained. Calophyllic acid is thus obtained which is used in pharmaceutical preparations.
This oil’s properties act on the three layers of the skin : epidermis, dermis and hypodermis. Used externally, locally, in massages, this oil has lots of properties which were clinically studied. It reinforces de immune system, fights against infection, thins the blood, reduces skin allergies…
